All you need to know about our project

We firmly believe that educated people are taking more sensible actions. Therefore, we wanted to develop a project that could benefit marine wildlife.

By carrying out a market study, we realized that most of the mainstream education applications that have for theme fauna and flora were purely educational or were not covering enough the marine wildlife. For example, Plage Vivante while being an interesting collective science project, there is no gamification features and the user attention is quickly lost.
Seek propose similar features such as pictures centred challenges, AI-supported recognition, flora targeted challenges and reward system. Our main difference is the environment we are covering. Added to this, unlike Seek, we are focusing the user experience on challenges rather than focusing it on its everyday experience. Incorporating it this way leads the user to know his surroundings and what he can expect.

With Marine Life Mapper, we want to revolutionize smart learning by getting people to learn more about the marine environment while having fun. The application is designed to be used near a beach in order to have challenges adapted to the location. The target market are thus eco-interested tourists and people living by the seaside. They are willing to develop their knowledge of the marine environment and are between 15 and 45 years old and earn an above average salary.

Our project draft

Wireframe and Mock-up with Figma

Figma has been used to create a wireframe & Mockup of our App so as to be able to test them with four people.

You will find the link to the wireframe of our project: Here

You will find the link to the different mockup versions of our project: Here

User test with Notion

Notion has been used to conduct our user tests and thereby to gather all the modifications to be made on the App.

You will find the link to our user test: Here

Technologies

    Artificial intelligence for picture scanning

An algorithm will be used to scan the pictures that will be taken by the user and it will compare it with the pictures that are stored in our database.

Reach out to us if you want to know more about our AI project.

    Database management system

A data management system will be useful to store all our documentation sheets related to species, users' personal data and achievements.

Check out the following link for more info: Here

    GPS

It will be necessary to geolocate the challenges and can be also used for the localisation of the user itself.

Check out the following link for more info: Here

    Connect with Google map API

This will enable us to provide the user with a map where he/she can choose his/her localisation. This is also where the challenges will be displayed.

What's next ?

Diversify entertainment: Diversification is key for renewed entertainment. We are actively developing new forms of challenges to sustain our users' interests and reach a new customer base.

Develop scientific partnerships: As the application keeps growing, we are developing our relations with scientific fields to make impactful use of data our users collect on marine life.

Horizon Europe: Education and Research being Marine Life Mapper’s goals, we are expecting funds from the Horizon Europe program to keep developing our activities.

Let the team grow: We are always looking to develop our team with new talents. Get in touch with us at Career@MLM.com
